Early Development Puppy Program
Raising well-rounded puppies is a top priority for us. All Redbush puppies participate in our specially designed early development puppy program. The program has several stages.
Day 1
Our puppies are handled frequently from birth so they quickly become acclimated to the smell & touch of humans.
Day 3
We add early neural stimulation into our program day 3 through day 16 to help acclimate our puppies to small stresses. Our puppies are continually exposed to an environment of soothing music from late gestation until 3 weeks age.
Week 3
At 3 weeks age, the puppies are introduced to noises such as thunderstorms at very low but slowly increasing levels so that by 4 weeks age the puppies are accustomed to full-blown thunderstorms with lightning strikes. At this age the puppies are allowed to leave the whelping pen & play in new controlled environments together.
Week 4
At 4 weeks age, small physical challenges are incorporated into the group playtime such as tunnels, small obstacles, mazes, etc. to help the puppies gain confidence & life experiences. At this time our puppies are also introduced to other small animals in order to boost their social skills and manners around small family pets.
Week 5
By 5 weeks age, we begin to introduce and acclimate the puppies to city traffic, gunfire, barking, trains, sirens, pots & pans, etc.
Week 6
At 6 weeks age, we begin daily individual training sessions with each of our puppies, in which we use positive reward clicker training for teaching basic "look", "sit" & "down" on a training table.
Week 8
By 8 weeks age, the puppies are comfortable with many different historically troublesome noises. Our adaptable, confident & social puppies are now ready to go to their new homes. Redbush puppies are both highly motivated & capable of succeeding in dog sport, search & rescue, drug/explosive detection, police work, medical assistance and family defense.

Deposits
We require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit by U.S. Postal Money Order to hold a puppy for you. Once we are contacted, the deposit must be sent with a confirmation tracking number and that number must be sent to us. Once we receive the confirmation number the puppy will be marked with a "HOLD" status. We cannot hold a puppy without deposit. Once the deposit is received the puppy will be marked with an "SALE PENDING" status. If we are shipping your puppy, the balance for the puppy's purchase price plus shipping fees must be paid by U.S. Postal Money Order in advance and received by us before we will mark your puppy "SOLD" and proceed with necessary shipping arrangements. If you are picking up your puppy, the remaining balance will be due at the time of pick-up in cash.
Please Note: Redbush Veterinary Services & Canine Training Academy, PLLC is a registered business in the State of Kentucky and ALL pups that are picked up must add 6% Kentucky sales tax to total sales price at the time of sale. Only puppies that are shipped out-of-state do not require the collection of Kentucky Sales Tax.
Delivery
Personal delivery within 300 miles will be considered on a case by case basis. Reasonable delivery charges for health certificate, crate, mileage & time will apply. If we deliver your puppy, the balance for the puppy's purchase price plus shipping fees (+/- Kentucky Sales Tax depending upon delivery location) must be paid in full with U.S. Postal Money Order, mailed with tracking confirmation & received in advance of proceeding with delivery plans.
Shipping
Shipping is available within the lower 48 states for puppies 8-11 wks age for $500.00. Shipping for puppies 12 wks age and older will be quoted on a case by case basis. The shipping cost includes an Interstate CVI, an Airline-Approved Travel Crate, Transportation to the Bluegrass International Airport in Lexington & United PetSafe Flight to your nearest major airport serviced by United. Please note that during the winter months, pet flights may change due to airport closures and flight delays/cancellations so patience & flexibility may be required but rest assured that we work closely with Runway Pets, Inc. to ensure the best travel conditions for our puppies.
